Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I have to be part of the LGBTQ+ community to play?
    No! The 2025 World Pride Open Championship is open to all golfers as long as you maintain a GHIN.
  • How do I get an invitation to the event?
    Registration will be open to the public in the Summer of 2024. There are minimum requirements to register including an active GHIN/World Handicap Index and a minimum of five rounds posted.
  • Can I play if I am a PGA professional?
    Yes, but ineligible to win trophies/prizes or to be designated a Champion.
  • How is the Tournament Flighted and Scored?
    Mens Division Division A - 0 - 10 Handicap Division B - 10.1 - 20 Handicap Division C - 20.1+ Handicap Womens Division Division A - 0 - 15 Handicap Division B - 15+ Handicap There are prizes/awards for Low Net in each Championship Flight. Overall 2025 World Pride Open Champion is LOW GROSS.
  • Is there a suggested Handicap for this event?
    No. There is a max handicap of 36.4 for men and 40.4 for women.
  • What yardage does each flight play from?
    Mens - Division A - 6,599 (BLUE) Division B - 6,226 (WHITE) Division C - 5,706 (GOLD) Men who are 60 and over may play 1 tee forward Womens Division A - 5,706 (GOLD) Division B - 5,203 (RED) Women who are 60 and over may play 1 tee forward
  • Where can I access East Potomac Score Card?
    The score card can be downloaded here.
  • What can I win?
    Players will be awarded championship trophies and sponsored product (below the threshold for USGA amateur status).
  • Can I have a caddie?
    No.
  • What is the refund policy?
    Full refunds are available as long as they are made more than 60 days before the competition. Between 60 and 30 days out there is a refund fee of 50% of your total invoice. Within 30 days there is no refund available. What about a rainout? In the event of inclement weather, if the course staff deems the golf course unplayable we will work with the course to provide rain checks, partial refunds, or full refunds depending on the nature of the situation and the course’s policies. If nine holes of golf are completed, no refunds (both partial and full) or rain checks will be provided.
